Meet Coach Madi
Madison Hayley, born in Calgary Alberta, started playing volleyball at the age of 12 and continued until an injury prevented her from continuing her post secondary career. She has since taken up her career of coaching, working with the Dinos and Team Alberta as well as coaching multiple varsity teams at the high school level. She now has over 8 years of experience coaching both indoor and beach teams accumulating an impressive 17 titles across her teams.
Madi started Monarch to share her passion for volleyball in September 2023 when she moved from Calgary to the Crowsnest pass to be with her partner Kurtis and to give her dog Kiya more room to run.
Why the butterflies?
A powerful beacon of growth and new beginnings, the butterfly signifies the power of transformation and the incredible feats we can achieve when we trust ourselves. We all have the ability to listen to our innate wisdom, guide ourselves through difficult times, and emerge better and stronger than before.
I was going through a very difficult time of my life when I was given a crystal butterfly as a gift. I’ve never been a person who takes note of symbols until butterflies started showing up in my life in strange situations. Butterflies became a place of comfort for me. I started to become so much more confident and happy, the butterfly became a reminder of my strength and growth as a person.
"My goal for Monarch Volleyball are to create a space for athletes to come, train and build connections with others and their coaches. Have a space free of judgment, to allow for learning and development." -Madison Hayley
